Conclusion:

The character of the United States is changing and is in transformation—when has this ever not been the case? However, the trajectory of the beginning years of this century are signifying that the changes are not entirely positive or constructive. It has been suggested that the decline and fall of empires and nations is the result of two things: (a) the dialectics of evolution, that is, if one power impresses itself, there will be an equal and opposite reaction to that power. Almost as reliable as a law of physics, this appears to once again hold validity as nations that have felt oppressed and dominated by the United States' increasing role and authority in the world order are pushing back. (b) ignorance, folly, and error, that is, serious blunders and mistakes committed by dominant powers that lead to their inevitable downfall and demise.

Certainly, astrology mirrors the significant transformations that the United States is undergoing, but the ultimate trajectory and outcome of what is happening cannot be understood. Astrology may be quite accurate in its ability to discern and predict archetypal qualities at any given point in time; however, not inherent in astrology are normative values, that is, given certain archetypal factors, astrology does not authoritatively mandate how one should act. How the United States responds, if the nation rises to the occasion, if the country matures and acts with increasing responsibility and integrity—these are not foregone conclusions.
