The glyph for Uranus |
|
 |
Frequently this birthing
process impelled by the Uranian archetype can be frustrating and difficult,
and, at worst–but often the case–is aborted or miscarried. However, when Jupiter
is aligned with Uranus, the birth canal of the universe is expanded, aligning
harmoniously with Uranus and allowing the thrust of creation |
|
to usher forth
unimpeded. If we look at the symbol of Uranus again, we
can imagine that Jupiter dilates the birth canal and the baby–the new creation–is
ushered through on the world stage.
|
 |
When Jupiter contacts Uranus, it's as if the universal birth canal and subsequent breakthrough are on a grander scale. |
|
 |
As Richard Tarnas documents
in Prometheus the Awakener, the creative impulse of Uranus is not only
allowed safe passage when aligned with Jupiter, but Jupiter also grants success
and triumph to the innovative drive of Uranus. (To see the Jupiter-Uranus
combination and 20th century film click here.)
In 1976, we see the success given to the emancipatory, rebellious, and innovative
Uranian inclinations in the ascendancy of Punk in the U.K., the rise of Disco,
and the breakthrough of Reggae artists like Bob Marley into public consciousness.
Revisiting Frampton,
we see that Frampton's natal Sun aligns with the 1976 Jupiter-Uranus opposition. |
|
With the Sun being arguably the most important archetype in the make-up of
personality, It was Frampton, then, who was ushered through this birth canal
of creativity and novelty and thrust out onto to the main stage of Rock'n'Roll
for a brief but brilliant sojourn at the top.
It is not my intention
to suggest that Frampton was fated to become huge in 1976; it is false to
assume that with a Jupiter-Uranus alignment landing prominently in one's chart
that one can merely sit back and assume success. The Jupiter-Uranus transit
represents more of a moment that is embedded in a much larger process.
