Jupiter
As a psychological drive, Jupiter is oriented toward expansion, elevation, and exploration. Aspiration is key to the astrological Jupiter, for to aspire not only implies going beyond one's current limitations but to reach for something higher, more ennobled and dignified than one's current state of affairs. Thus, Jupiter rules the heights, the lofty, rarefied air of high society and higher education. As a quality, Jupiter is usually perceived as uplifting, celebratory, and effusive. In contrast to Saturn, whose limiting and contracting energy can turn one cynical, bitter, and melancholic, Jupiter's warmth and positivity can help one to bask in the glow and possibilities of a better future and faith in the abundance of the universe.
When Jupiter combines with the archetypal quality of another planet, one of the most noticeable consequences is that Jupiter merely tends to swell, dilate, and expand the other planet's qualities, for good or ill. Jupiter often magnifies the qualities of another planet's archetypal energy, allowing the other planet's expression to temporarily grow in potential. Moreover, Jupiter is inclined to allow success and flow in relation to another planet's archetypal expression. Not unlike a lubricant that both swells and eases, Jupiter facilitates growth and effortlessness in relation to the planet with which it aligns.
Uranus
As the first of the invisible planets and the first planet discovered since antiquity, Uranus represents expressions that are not always obvious, let alone well-integrated into society. The collective psychological imperative surrounding Uranus's function is aligned with the impulse to go beyond outworn structures and to liberate us into a different state of being and knowing. Scientists who have set out to understand the origins of life have observed that elementary building blocks of microscopic organisms need some sort of catalyst—some spark of energy—to be truly on their way to being alive. Uranus is not unlike that spark, and, if one takes the perspective that life is one grand experiment, than Uranus's archetypal energies always emphasizes the experimental side of things. With Uranus's expression, we climb the evolutionary ladder toward our greatest experimental possibilities. More specifically, Uranus is responsible for freeing us from limitations found in material form, and Uranus grants the gift of god-like intuition—wisdom of knowing higher, even spiritual, truths.
Uranus excites, stimulates, and quickens another planet's archetypal expression. Not unlike a lightening rod that agitates and energizes, Uranus creates sporadic pulses of psychical energy aimed at the planetary symbol with which it aligns. Like lightning that illuminates a plateau during a summer storm, Uranus allows us to see what had once been in the dark. However, unlike the usual and customary light of the Sun, Uranus's light is brilliant, captivating, strange, and riveting.
