The Jupiter-Uranus Alignment in Light of 2010As many metaphysical systems have attested, the time of roughly 2010 through 2012 has been emphasized as a time of tremendous change and of great significance. Astrology does not differ on this general assessment. Although it is beyond the scope of this article to examine in-depth the possibilities of this timeframe, a very brief description of the archetypal configuration involved is necessary to understand where we are now and what implications our times will hold for this crucial turning point in human evolution.
The astrological alignments of this time frame, from approximately 2010 through 2012, suggest a tremendous death-rebirth cycle. It is likely that similar issues and energies that were present in 2001 through 2002 will be reactivated but on a much more intense, more dramatic scale. Because the alignment is quite complex, it is likely that more than just one story and case scenario will unfold—this is almost inevitable. However, one of the likely plot lines of this tense period will be the letting go of what no longer serves us in favor for new modes of experience which will ultimately be more freeing, liberating, and congruent for the world in which we live. The positive thread in this story is that the results of this time will likely lead to more consciousness and more appropriate socio-political dynamics that will better serve a greater portion of humanity. The difficult side of this story line is that the end results will not come without some major dissention, chaos, and potential violence.
The Jupiter-Uranus alignment of 2003-2004, being much lighter and idealistic in scope, suggests that many of the theoretical advances of this time will be put into play when we reach the critical threshold of 2010-2012. Certainly not an outright revolution, the "consciousness raising" energies of the Jupiter-Uranus alignment as witnessed by the numerous documentaries chronicling the corruption of our media, corporations, and government will serve a likely purpose in the years ahead. Through these enlightening commentaries, questions have been asked, a healthy skepticism has been raised, and the public is more attuned to how they are being potentially manipulated and controlled. During a Jupiter-Uranus alignment the right questions are asked; during a Pluto-Uranus constellation-such as the one initiating in 2010-something is done about the consciousness-raising, usually in the form of massive revolutions, rebellions, and overhauls. Thus, we may view much of the important activity being done now as sowing the seeds of societal discontent and civil disobedience in the upcoming decade.
Outside of the political realm, the interests and discoveries sparked by this recent Jupiter-Uranus alignment may bear tremendous fruit during the upcoming 2010 alignment and beyond. Jupiter-Uranus alignments typically suggest firsts, as in "first commercial space flight," "first successful quantum teleportation experiment…". Pluto-Uranus alignments, however, typically infer a massive birth and push in direction of new technologies. Thus, during these years, a significant rise in the implementation of new technologies should occur. An alignment such as the one that occurs in 2010 and beyond typically correlates with the massive restructuring of technologies and infrastructure.
