Historically, Saturn
and Pluto in hard alignment coincides with power shifts, primarily in political
movements and distribution of capital. Often Pluto-Saturn aspects correlate
with the ascension of power of political movements that arise from the marginalized
and disenfranchised portions of societies. Witness the seeds of the Bolshevik
party in the early 1900's and the beginnings of Nazi ascension in the 1930's.
Similarly, Saturn-Pluto alignments correlate with volatile market forces, economic recessions and depressions.
Finally, if we view the
larger context in which the Saturn-Pluto alignment will occur, we will notice
that this configuration comes on the heels of two successive
alignments of Saturn with the other two outer planets: Neptune and Uranus.
This is the longest sustained period of Saturn in hard aspect to the outer
planets in over a century. For nearly four years Saturn will be grinding its
way into the transpersonal planets. Because the Saturn-Pluto configuration
is the last of these three alignments, expect this alignment to be that much
more difficult and stressful.
Since the collective
psyche has been under duress for such a sustained period of time, the normal
Saturn constriction will feel and appear to be that much more relentless and
oppressive. The reward? The Jupiter-Uranus opposition of 2003 promises to be
most spectacular. A liberation and elevation of the human spirit the likes
of which will rarely be witnessed should occur at this time. Hang in there!!
