Since Saturn inhibits
and restricts the qualities of the planets it touches, people either overcompensate
for that which Saturn restricts or withdraw from attempting to tackle the
fear and anxiety that Saturn can produce. During the Saturn Return, one usually
can observe this overcompensation-withdrawal response activated.
Sun-Saturn Contacts:
Saturn will inhibit and restrict one's general sense of self if it makes contact
with the Sun in the birthchart. If male, those with Sun-Saturn contacts will
often make great strides to emulate the path of the father and uphold family
traditions during the Saturn-Return. This is usually a time of hard work with
a materialistic, pragmatic emphasis--a period of cautious advance in career
with feelings of guilt if one does not put the nose to the grindstone.
Thoughts to consider
and suggestions:
Ask yourself, "Is the path I'm creating a good fit for all parts of my personality
or is it hard work with little satisfaction? Am I creating a workaholic lifestyle
which will burn me out? Is the path of tradition something which I really
want or an option I'm taking out of fear?"
Moon-Saturn Contacts:
Those with natal Moon-Saturn contacts have a reputation of being highly emotionally
sensitive or inhibited from expressing feelings.Often the Moon-Saturn individual
will withdraw into deep introspection, self-examination, and self-criticism
during the Saturn Return. Also, the Moon-Saturn type at the Saturn Return
will try and create an environment that is as safe and secure as possible.
On the positive side, Moon-Saturn types usually are used to a good deal of
responsibility so the maturation at this time is not a shock in terms of discipline
and self-motivation.
Thoughts to consider
and suggestions: It is advisable to add a little pressure on yourself
to take risks that make you feel emotionally vulnerable during the Saturn
Return. Ask yourself, "Am I fearful from letting the outside environment know
how I feel? Reflecting back on my first 29 years, was I inhibited? Did I feel
emotionally trapped?"
