What may have been the single greatest, concentrated genocide in recorded history, an estimated 800,000 were slaughtered in a matter of weeks in Rwanda. The Hutu military, angered when their leader was purportedly killed in a plane crash, initiated the killings of rival ethnic group, the Tutsi, out of tribal hatred.
The Pluto-Saturn Pattern and its relevance to the September 11th terrorist attacks
When an individual repeats a painful pattern in his or her life-a series of failed relationships, recurrent episodes which alienate family and friends-more often than not, the individual learns to recognize the pattern and hopefully will change behaviour accordingly. This is healthy behavior. Pathology in this circumstance is to repeat the pattern that causes pain and distress without any initiative or motivation into looking deeply into the dynamics of what is causing pain.
From archetypal perspective, the events of September 11th—occurring in the crucible of a Saturn-Pluto opposition—fit the patterns of the most recent Saturn-Pluto phenomena of the 20th century: economic recession, conservative socio-political zeitgeist, scapegoating, intense national and ethnic polarization, an event or events of a dramatically abhorrent and inhumane nature. What is upsetting is that the pattern of manifestation is not changing; little or no awareness on a broad or global scale is being directed to the dire consequences of the Saturn-Pluto constellation.
