Not only do we see an expansion in Wilber's model but also in the breadth and ambition of his writing. It was when the Neptune-Uranus conjunction fell on his natal Jupiter did Wilber envision his Kosmos trilogy, with the publication of his Sex, Ecology, and Spirituality. At 800 plus pages, Sex, Ecology, and Spirituality was much broader, grander, and simply bigger than anything that Wilber had devised before—Jupiterian expansion if there ever was.

As Jupiter is also the planet of success, Wilber emerged from a relatively small but avid following to become an enormously influential thinker, becoming the mouthpiece for culture creatives in the United States and abroad. He, in many ways, embodied the intellectual genius of the collective Neptune-Uranus conjunction.

As the Neptune-Uranus conjunction moved across Wilber's natal Venus, we also observe a shift in focus in his thinking. As Venus is the planet of relationship, sexuality, and aesthetics, these arenas—for the first time—become a central focus in Wilber's work. Wilber moved into the center of the "gender wars" fray, taking a definite stance on the relationship between the sexes in books like Eye of Spirit and Sex, Ecology, and Spirituality. It was also at his time that Wilber concentrated on art, with essays like "The Mission of Art," which served as the foreword for a book on visionary artist Alex Grey.

In summation, although we took only a cursory look at Wilber's work, we can see the correlation of the Neptune-Uranus pairing with major intellectual advances in Wilber's career, from his initial interest in transpersonal psychology to the development of his latest "integral" theories.

Of equal value, however, is that we are able to discern more about the meaning of Neptune and Uranus in combination. Since Wilber is the synthesizer par excellence, we may discern that Neptune-Uranus is very much involved in syncretism, with the conjoining of separate fields into a new synthesis. Just as the world became interconnected via the internet under the recent Neptune-Uranus conjunction, disparate disciplines have become united in a very admirable and satisfying way under the direction of Wilber. Hence, the real value of looking at the birthchart and development of individuals from the perspective of astrology is twofold: one gains a much deeper insight into the psychology of the individual, and equally important, one is able to get a much more accurate picture of the planetary archetypes—particularly when additional meaning can be distilled when planets are in combination and not in isolation.
